The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

LEVEL 3 AWARD IN FIRST AID AT WORK

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations including:

  • CPR

  • Minor Injuries

LEVEL 3 AWARD IN PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID AT WORK

The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a childcare setting as it is been specifically designed to fulfil Ofsted’s first aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and childminders.

Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations including:

LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

The Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is ideal for anyone who cares for infants and children, such as: parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have a professional involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations including:

  • Managing an Unresponsive Infant or Child

  • Seizures
  • External Bleeding and more

LEVEL 2 AWARD IN BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND SAFE USE OF AN AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR

 
Over a half day period, Learners will develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations and safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Topics covered include:

LEVEL 2 AWARD IN BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND MANAGEMENT OF ANAPHYLAXIS

Over a half day period, successful Learners will gain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations including:

  • Managing a Casualty With Anaphylaxis
  • CPR
  • Common Anaphylaxis Triggers
  • Signs and Symptoms of Anaphylaxis
  • Treatment and more

LEVEL 2 AWARD IN FIRST AID ESSENTIALS

Ideal for those who are able to access CQC (Care Quality Commission) funding, this regulated and nationally recognised qualification enables Learners to gain the skills and knowledge needed to administer safe, prompt, effective first aid in situations which can arise when providing care.

Designed to encompass the Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work as well as additional assessment criteria on Accident Reporting, Learners who successfully complete this qualification will gain two regulated qualifications. 

The Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency.

During this 1 day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations including:

LEVELl 2 AWARD IN ACTIVITY FIRST AID

The Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid qualification has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide first aid when dealing with an emergency situation whilst undertaking activities, such as sports, swimming, hiking, rock climbing etc.

During this 2 day course learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations including:

  • Managing an Unresponsive Casualty
  • CPR, Choking
  • Head and Spinal Injuries
  • Abdominal Injuries
  • External Bleeding
  • Anaphylaxis and more

FORESTRY FIRST AID + F

The Forestry First Aid +F qualification is ideal for those that work or intend to work in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers.

This short, yet informative course provides Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed for the treatment of injuries and diseases that could occur whilst working in a forestry/agricultural specific environment. Topics covered are:

  • Extreme Hot and Cold Temperatures
  • Managing Catastrophic Bleeding
  • Crush Injuries
  • Lyme Disease

This qualification is intended to be delivered in conjunction with a regulated first aid qualification (minimum of 1 day) and will confirm the Learner’s abilities to meet a ‘licence to practice’ as determined by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the recommendations in the First Aid at Work – Forestry Commission Policy.

QA LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN FIRST RESPONSE EMERGENCY CARE

This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D. 

The Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care is one of the few first aid qualifications recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

The Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care qualification is specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance services, the event medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces. 

Successful Learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competences needed to deal with a wide range of prehospital care emergencies such as:

  • Managing a Patient’s Airways

LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATE IN FIRST RESPONSE EMERGENCY CARE

This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification fulfils the competencies set out in Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level E, and is the perfect next step for those who have completed the Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care or equivalent.

The Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care qualification is specifically designed for those who want to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency treatment. QA Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Medical Gases

This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification provides Learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding to deal with emergency care in a prehospital environment where delivery of medical gases may be required.

During this half course day, Learners will develop the necessary knowledge and skills needed for the safe, prompt and effective administration of emergency oxygen and analgesic agents. Topics covered include:
